Removing a host takes it out of the workspace for everyone who can see it and closes any open sessions to it.
Removing A Single Host
Select Hosts in the left navigation.
Click the Host to open its details.
Choose Delete. The confirmation explains that this permanently removes the Host from your environment for all users and closes any sessions that are connected to it.
Confirm.
Remove Several Hosts at Once
Select the Hosts you would like to delete from the list by checking the box beside the Hosts.
Choose Delete from the selection bar at the bottom.. The same confirmation applies to the whole selection.
What Happens When You Delete a Host
The credential is not deleted. Credentials are usually shared across several Hosts, so removing one Host leaves the credential in place for the others.
Host Groups related to that Host. The Host Group the deleted Host belonged to will continue to exist until deleted.
Open sessions end. Anything running in a session connected to that Host stops when the session closes, unless it was inside a
tmuxsession on the host, in which case the process continues there and you can reattach from another client.Conversation history is not deleted. Past LuumenAI conversations that referenced the Host are not deleted.
Audit history is not deleted. Enterprise plan customers will still have an audit log of events that involved the deleted Host.
Rebuilding a Server at the Same Address
If a server is rebuilt or reimaged but keeps the same IP address or hostname, you do not need to remove the Host and add it again.
Keep the existing Host record.
Reconnect to the Host as usual.
If the rebuilt server presents a new SSH host key, Luumen shows the new key type and fingerprint and asks you to confirm before connecting. This is expected after a rebuild. Confirm to continue.
Why the key changes. Rebuilding a server generates a new SSH host key, so the fingerprint will not match the one Luumen saw before. Confirming the new key tells Luumen to trust the rebuilt machine going forward.
